ACE - Accelerated Christian Education Teachers Conference

This past week Samantha and I as well as several others from our Church were able to attend the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) Teacher Conference.

We all stayed at the hotel that the conference was being held. This hotel was really nice! Last year we stayed at a hotel that was pretty nice but it was further away. Being able to stay at the same place as the conference was nice because we didn't have to rush. We were also able to go to our room during the breaks and check out at 1pm after lunch.

This was Samantha's first time to attend the conference, and my third. Each year I have gone it has been very informative and extremely fun.  For Samantha this being her first conference she really had a great time.

We both really like Mrs Sandy Dawson, she has such a robust style of teaching and is not afraid to go against the grain. She has such a passion for what she is teaching and Samantha and I both really appreciate that.

Pretty much every session we attended were great. This years theme was Running the Race. There was three preaching messages, The First was on Running the Race, and the second was on, Being A Team and the third was on, Passing the Baton.

During one of the general sessions, I was called up to help with an illustration, as well as 11 other men. It was a lot of fun.

Three years in a row, I have been blessed to attend this conference, but this year was special because it was the first year I was able to attend married to my wonderful wife Samantha. Her presence, as it always does really makes it extra special.

Volleyball Fun!

One of the best parts of working for our church is the ability to take part in school activities. One activity Samantha and I really love to help out at is the Christian school games. It is so much fun to cheer on the kids.

Going to these games has allowed us to develop a close relationship with the kids, and offered many mentoring opportunities.

For this game Samantha and I were the official score keeper and scorebook keeper. It was a lot of fun to be side by side with her. It's always a lot of fun to have her by my side. :-)

Because Samantha is a graduate of the Christian school, she has a lot of insight. When she was in school they had one of the best teams in the school district. Below is a picture of that team, taken from the Alumni Game earlier this year.

State Fair 2011

This week Samantha and I as well as her family went to the State Fair.

It has been quite a few years since any of us had been to state fair. But was a lot of fun. As a kid I (Adam) used to love riding the rides, but now that I'm older I have learned to appreciate the other aspects of the fair. We had a lot of fun just walking around and looking at the exhibits and booths.

This year, on display were several of the surrounding Fire Departments fire engines.
We couldn't help but take a picture, infront of the Sandoval County Fire Department.

Look a real life cow-milking session!
:-)

One of the coolest parts of the fair was this tent. In this tent there were all sorts of educational games.

How long can you hang?

Can you tell what scent is in the bottle?

Try and move the wand around the metal track without touching the sides.
It's harder than it looks!

Nothing like freshly squeezed lemonade!

While we were walking around two ladies asked Samantha to watch their children so they could go on a ride.
We were pretty surprised by their request, but we agreed.

At last we made it to the best part of the Fair, the food!!
Turkey leg... anyone?
More yummy goodness....

Amazing arts and crafts

All in all we had a blast and cant wait till next year.

Six Month Anniversary!

Time sure flys! We can hardly believe we have been married six months!
One of the things that we have both learned in six months, is never to take the little things for granted! It can be so easy to get caught up with the ministry and everyday life that we dont take the time to enjoy each other.

Something as simple as a walk in the rain, can become a lasting memory, if we are willing to take the time. (having a rain jacket helps ;-)

Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
